Flowers for Mothers Day

I recently took some photos of the flowers we have growing in the backyard.
It just seemed fitting to post them on Mothers Day.

I don't know much about flowers, but I think these are tulips.

This dandelion was just begging to be part of the photo gallery.

Soaking in the sun

There is something I find interesting about the wilting of flowers.

Fire Hydrant

While driving down the road I noticed an old building and a bunch of firefighters. I had to stop and see what was going on. They were doing a training exercise and they had all of their gear laid out. Even though I asked if I could take some pictures, I was a little scared to get to close. The sidewalk was my comfort zone.

Sunset at Sunset Park

I went out on a limb capturing this shot, literally.

I thought the randomness of the branches had an interesting look to it.

I captured a semi-truck just as he crossed the sun.
Its weird to think he will probably never know that he is the subject of my shot.

I was able to get both the sun and the moon in the same shot.
What I found more interesting is the way you can see the shade of the sky turn from day to night.

Moon (in-case you were not sure)

Nighttime Photos

My photography group and I decided it was time to try some night shooting. Here are some I came up with.

After trying to light up the ceiling I noticed some light trails in the shot. So on my second try, I made sure to include light trails. I think it turned out nicely.

I thought it would be cool to get a frozen-in-time / sequence style photo. I had some help, and we had to try several times. but I finally got something I was satisfied with. enjoy!

New Technique on State Street

A new technique to an old photo.
This is one of our many adventures down State Street in Madison.
